Gold Division:
Dos Brisas 14, Revolution 5 (Championship)
Led by Colorado native Carolyn Cryer, Dos Brisas breezed through the championship game leaving little doubt as to the outcome from the opening draw. Cryer, named offensive MVP scored six first half goals, while tournament MVP, Lindsay Gilbride, scored twice as Dos Brisas took a 9-2 first half lead. There was no quit in Revolution, but they were clearly over-matched by the ladies from Dos Brisas. With the outcome no longer in doubt, Dos Brisas and Revolution played a fast-paced up and down second half, as Cryer finished the game with nine goals. Revolution was lead with two goals each from Kate Dewey and Sarah Bullard as well as getting solid goalie play from Mollie Mackler who finished the game with eight saves, many from point blank range. In the end, the speed and finesse of Dos Brisas carried them to the 2008 championship.
CRSLAX 11, Lax Hut 10 (3rd Place)
In the closest game of the day, CRSLAX out lasted Lax Hut in this well played 3rd place game. CRSLAX got three goals from Katie Leland, while Lax Hut got two from Caytlin McCormick in a 6-5 first half. CRSLAX scored two early second half goals to stretch the lead to three before Lax Hut took control and took a one goal lead into the last five minutes. With under a minute and half left Lindsey Lewis scored to tie the game at 9 only to be answered by Stacey Brown to once again give Lax Hut a one goal lead. CRSLAX controlled the ensuing draw to allow Lewis to get a tying goal once again. With less than ten seconds on the clock CRSLAX made one final drive towards goal allowing Megan Burker to score the winning goal. In a losing effort Lax Hut was led by goalie Kristena Anderson and her 11 saves.
Gang Green 12, AOB 7 (5th Place)
Gang Green had a relatively easy time with AOB in the first half ending the half with a 5-2 lead. Kat Collins lead the way with three first half goals for the Gang and goalies Julie Wadland for Gang Green and Caitlin Carducci for AOB had five saves each in a half dominated by defense. The second half featured more of the same as AOB could not quite catch Gang Green. Gang Green’s Casey Hazel scored their last four second half goals and finished with a game leading five goals. Ashley Mitcheldes and Rachel Culp led AOB scores with two goals each. The final score ended with Gang Green walking away victorious.
Team 180 16, Xtreme 7 (7th Place)
