Results from Sunday, July 1st, 2007

Another beautiful day in paradise greeted the Women's Elite team who started pool play today. The first two days are round-robin pool play to determine who will make it to the Championship bracket and who will be in the Consolation bracket.

Sunday's games were a good start to the tournament. All games were played on the fields in Edward. For the remaining games, they will be split between Edwards and the Athletic field in Vail.

8:30 AM Field 1 Outlaws 18 Vision 2
The Outlaws dominated the game. Sonia LaMonica, #69, did an amazing job leading the team in goals with 6.

9:45 AM Field 1 Tap This 1 Gang Green 16
Gang Green, comprised of Dartmouth players, did awesome and ganged up on Tap This. A balanced attack kept the gang going.

11:00 AM Field 1 Revolution Lacrosse 8 Team Ohio 3
Revolution came out strong and fought hard the whole game. Ohio did a good job as well, but the Revolution stepped it up and won. Ohio goalie, Amanda Chambers, kept Ohio in the game recording 21 saves.

12:15 PM Field 1 East-West Sports 9 NYAC Subs 2
The game started slow just like the sun rising in the East. Then day came and East-West Sports Camps picked it up. Both teams put up a great fight. Half time was 5-2 with East-West in the lead. In the end, the sun set on the NYAC Subs with East-West winning 9-2. Sydney Greene (#5) of East-West lead the scoring with 4 goals.

1:30 PM Field 1 Revolution Lacrosse 12 Tap This 4
Revolution tapped into their resources to control the game from start to finish. A balanced attack kept Revolution in the lead.

2:45 pm Field 1 Team Ohio 4 Gang Green 17
Gang Green again put the gang in place and took care of business. In the game 8 people scored for Gang Green with Casey Hazel (#22) leading the scoring with 4 goals. Amanda Chambers add 8 saves to her goalie stats.

8:30 AM Field 2 Green Turtle 15 Lakeshore 2
Turtle's by name and nature, GT had a slow beginning but soon emerged from their shells scoring 10 goals in the first half. Lakeshore pushed to be competitive but came up short with 2 goals. Jessica Adam of GT lead the scoring with 5 goals.

9:45 AM Field 2 ReLAXers 10 Team Rammit 3
The ReLAXers relaxed in the first half, but the second half they were on fire. They moved the ball well. Rammit tried to stay in it and came out with 3. Morgan Lane lead ReLAXers with 3 goals.

11:00 AM Field 2 Colorado ChillLax 11 Lacrosse Wear 8
An evenly matched game with both teams playing good lacrosse. Team Lacrosse Wear kept the game close with great play from goalie (#21) who recorded 8 saves.

12:15 PM Field 2 Lockton Loaded 10 Detroit 2
Lockton Loaded had very nice ball movement throught the midfield and on attack. Detroit's defense stayed strong and made Lockton Loaded work for every goal. McKenzie and Strain each had 3 goals to lead LL.

1:30 PM Field 2 Team Rammit 9 Lacrosse Wear 8
Lacrosse Wear goalie is a phenom as she made several great saves. Bothe teams played really well. This exciting game came down to the wire. Impressive play from Brittany Farniok (#21) kept the game very close with 7 saves. In the end the balanced scoring of Team Rammit gave them the win.

2:45 PM Field 2 Colorado ChillLax 6 ReLAXers 8
In a fight for the top position in pool A, ReLAXers played a strong game and held off Colorado ChillLax by 2 goals. The ReLAXers goalie, Jackie Swansberg, had 12 saves in a great effort to hold back the Colorado contingent.

Teams are awarded points based on 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss. The top two in each pool will go to the Championship bracket. The remaining two teams will go to the Consolation bracket. Bracket play begins on Tuesday.

All Players must be members of US Lacrosse. Players may contact US Lacrosse before the tournament to make this as easy as possible. US Lax representatives will be on-hand to check in teams to ensure that all are current members. You may renew or join at: US Lacrosse
