Sunday, July 2-Athletic Field

Colorado Chillax 14, Detroit 10
Chillax appeared to take advantage of the Vail nightlife Saturday night as only 3 players were at the field with less than 2 minutes before game time and the goalie equipment found itself locked inside the team condo. Despite playing the entire first half and 10 minutes of the second half with no goalie, Chillax showed great transition through the mid field and attack. The Long sisters scored 3 goals each and Detoit's Julie Holland added 3 for her team in the loss.

Juan's Mexicali 13, Lakeshore 3
Three goals from Margaret Kennedy, 3 goals and 3 assists by Courtney Yarusso, and consistent play from this young Boulder-based crew pushed Juan's Mexicali to an easy win. Lakeshore had more offensive attacks in the second half, but ran out of time and into Mexicali keeper Danica Minor. Keeper Helder Weil turned away 10 saves for Lakeshore.

Detroit 11, Liquid Lax 4
Detroit has motored through each game, balancing good midfield, defense, and transition. Liquid Lax's goalie Amy Lavoie turned away 8 shots except the 3 that Alexis Pavle sneaked in for Detroit.

Hootenannies 16, Lakeshore 5
Hootenannies moved the ball well through transition and had 7 players score at least one goal enroute to a decisive win. Helena Iaquinta was high scorer with 3 goals while teammate Teresa Frezzo scored 2 goals and had 1 assist.

PA Express 11, Team Ski+Bar 3
PA Express was led by Katie Doolittle's 3 goals and Kristen Burke's 3 assists and 1 goal as they continued to dominate their bracket. Team Ski+Bar showed flashes of offense, but in the end, were outplayed by the younger and more agile team from Pennsy. The game was forfeited by Ski+Bar with 19 minutes to go in the 2nd half after a brief lightning delay.

Lockton Loaded 14, Last Chance 3
Last Chance was forced to forfeit this game after they added a non-registered player to the roster due to being short a player. In the name of lacrosse and good sportsmanship, both teams decided to play the game. Lockton Loaded's play matched their bright pink kilts with fancy shots and passes not normally seen by most teams or players. Laura Dosdall led all players with 4 goals. Nicole Kucharski kept Last Chance on the scoreboard with all of her team's goals.

Sunday, July 2-Edwards Field

Tap This 12, Liquid Lax 8
Green was the color of the morning: hunter green for Liquid Lax and Lime Green for Tap This. Tap This danced to a 7-4 lead at the half with Libby Bourke scoring 3 of those in the first 25 minutes. Liquid Lax became fluid in the 2nd half, scoring 5 goals, but could not shut down the Tap This offense. Goalie Amy Lavoie had 8 saves for Liquid Lax and Alana Dalton had 5 for Tap This.

Team Wild 11, Hootenannies 10
Team Wild's Middlebury connection came through again in a hard-fought contest that featured 8 players scoring. Goalie Joanna Rosenfield had 11 spectacular saves between the pipes. Hootenannies's Valerie Barnhart was the game-leader with 4 goals.

Tap This 8, Colorado Chillax 7
A "chilly" breeze managed to cool Tap This off in the first half, leading Chillax to a 5-2 halftime lead. Tap This was able to start a Chillax meltdown in the 2nd half, tying the score until Lizzie Frankie made the winning goal with 6 seconds remaining in regulation.Meghan Farrell for Chillax and Cassie Abel of Tap This led all scorers with 3 goals apiece. Amanda Wilson of Chillax turned away 13 shots.

Team Wild 10, Juan's Mexicali 8
Juan Mexicali jumped out to a 4 goal lead but Team Wild's Char Glessner punched in 2 goals to tie the score at half. Both goalies played a standout game in this defensive match-up. Wild's Schuyler Winstead added another 3 goals to secure the win.

MadLax 12, Team Ohio 4
The clouds came in and the temp went down, but MadLax's enthusiasm remained high as Kristy Manas , Robyn Yeatman, and Sonja Kapusta led the victory. Team Ohio took advantage of any opportunity and worked hard to score.

reLAXers 14, Rammit 1
reLAXers were not in the relax mode today, running up a 10 goal lead in the first half. Morgan Watkins and Colleen Dalon had 3 goals apiece, all in the first half. Rammit goalie Brooke Lewis turned away 12 saves but impressed everyone with the most accurate clears of any keeper who played on this field today.
