from Monday, June 26, 2006 Semifinal play completed on Monday as the Elder Statesmen and Navy Old Goats won their way into the finals. Navy has had one of the best Supermasters teams in Vail since the late 1990s as they seemingly move new players through the ranks every season. While the Elder Statesmen are based loosely on Hobart alums, they have a few additions that make them dangerous as well. Tomorrows game should be a good one as a new champion will be crowned. The play of the day took place in the Princeton/FROGs game. The FROGs used the old hidden ball play to perfection, using their spastic goaltender as bait and confusing the Obsoletes before throwing the ball in an empty net. Unfortunately they were offsides on the play and it was called back, but the FROGs had plenty in the tank to take the victory. Supermasters wrap up on Tuesday.
