2005 Championship Game
ReLAXers - 16, Team Wild - 6
It was apparent from the start ReLAXers were here to win. They had five tallies before Team Wild
made the scoreboard. With a last second score before the half, ReLAXers, a team of predominantly
William and Mary players and alum, held a 9-4 edge. In the second half, the W&M alums added
two quick goals to establish game control. Team Wild, mostly Middlebury alum, were on an uphill
battle trying to close the gap. With a seven goal deficit with 18 minutes to play, it was too
much to recover. ReLAXers took the 2005 Women's Lacrosse Shootout title. Leading the scoring for
ReLAXers were Kara Parker with 4 goals, 1 assist; tournament MVP Colleen Dalon with 4 goals; and
Morgan Watkins with 3 goals, 2 assists.

scoring from multiple players. In the end, Ohio outlasted Detroit.
Game 17 Breakaway - 6, 20-Somethin' - 14
After a disappointing loss in the semis, 20-Somethin' came back hard outplaying Breakaway. Leading
the offense were Emily Helmagren with 5 goals and Cassie Abel with 4 goals.
Game 18 Rammit - 14, CU Buffs - 6
An intrastate rivalry between the CU Buffs and the Rammit team from CSU produced a feisty game.
Rammit took control late in the first half and never let up. Jen Gunlikson and Kayna Whitworth
had four goals apiece to pace the scoring.
2005 Champions: ReLAXers

| The 2005 version of the Women's Elite Lacrosse Shootout went very well.
It is easy to have a good time in the Valley. Surrounded by mountains, good friends, and great
weather teams were excited to show up and have a great vacation. Teams from all over the country
came to the Vail Valley to show off their skills and/or to just have a good time playing lacrosse
and socializing. Some teams did both to the extreme! In the end, Ohio earned the bragging
rights for the Midwest as they finished ahead of Chicago and Detroit. The local team, Pazzo's,
had a fun tournament but ended up win-less. Within Colorado, Rammit held the edge over interstate
rival, CU Buffs, but the club team of Fubar finished higher on the charts. The strength of
the teams lied with those that were comprised of alumni and teammates. Breakaway, aka William
Smith ended up fourth, while 20-Somethin', alias Colorado players who played in NCAA programs,
finished third. In the championship it was a contest between ReLAXers and Team Wild. These
teams were also known as William and Mary players/alums and Middlebury players/alums. ReLAXers
with their Division I experience were able to take control of the Championship game and win
the 2005 title with a score of 16-6.
After four days in the sun and four nights of celebration, after all it is July 4th, win
or lose the lacrosse was good, the players enjoyed themselves and the plan is to be back
next year for another version of the Vail Lacrosse Shootout!
