BRACKET PLAY
Game 4 Breakaway -12, CU Buffs - 10
With a half-time score of 5-4 and CU behind, the Buffs stepped it up and immediately tied the
game. Breakaway took the challenge and reeled off 4 unanswered goals to take control of the game
and moved in to the semi-finals. Leading the Breakaway scoring was Megan Shea with 4 goals while
goalie Carissa Medeiros had 8 saves. Megan Wood of CU had 5 goals and 1 assist.
Game 5 Fubar - 2, Team Wild - 13
Team Wild took the lead then never looked back. Even though Fubar goalie Amanda Chambers had 15
saves the offensive effort of Team Wild was too much for the Fubar defense. Leading Team Wild
was Char Glessner with 6 goals.
Game 6 Rammit - 4, 20-Somethin's - 8
In a battle for Colorado bragging rights, Rammit outshot 20-Somethin' but were outscored. The
experience of the post college players helped them maintain the lead throughout the game and move
into the semi-finals. Cassie Abel led the winning effort with 3 goals and 3 assists.
Game 7 Detroit - 5, ReLAXers - 16
Excellent draw control allowed ReLAXers to get the ball and go to goal. Making a scoring run of
five goals before Detroit got on the scoreboard. From start to finish ReLAXers dominated play.
Leading ReLAXers was Morgan Watkins with 4 goals and 1 assist. Supporting the effort were Laurice
Rutledge with 4 goals and Colleen Dalon with 3 goals and 1 assist. Facing 32 shots Detroit goalie
Charlee Newman had 15 saves.
Game 8 Chicago - 11, CU Buffs - 14
In a competitive game, CU Buffs held off the hard charging Lakeshore Club team. Lakeshore's Julie
Jerrell had 5 goals in the effort. Lara Spencer led the Buffs with 4 goals and 1 assist.
Game 9 Team Ohio- 9, Fubar - 8 OT
An evenly matched game, scores were traded. Most of the action took place in the midfield as both
teams were challenging for ball control. At the end of regulation the score was 8 apiece. In OT
Liz Ford put the ball in the cage for the winning score. She also contributed two other goals.
The overall leading scorer was Ohio's Bri Sadel with 4 goals.
Game 10 Team Pazzo's - 3, Rammit - 19
The local team didn't fair too well against the balanced scoring of Rammit. With 4 people scoring
3 goals, it was tough for Team Pazzo's to keep pace. Rammit moves on to play Detroit while Team
Pazzo's is now out of the tournament.
Game 11 Semi-Final
Breakaway -5 , Team Wild - 9
The first half ended in a tie with both teams scoring 4 goals. In the second half, Team Wild's
defense clamped down and held Breakaway to 1 goal on 4 shots while the offense kept pushing to
goal and tallied 5 goals for a grand total of 9 for the game. Leading Team Wild were Caitlin McCormick
and Char Glessner with 3 goals apiece.
Game 12 Semi-Final
ReLAXers - 14, 20-somethin' - 1
Team ReLAXers dominated the game from start to finish. With a big win in the semis they head to
the championship game. Leading the ReLAXers attack was Ali Evans 6 goals.
Game 13 CU Buffs - 12, Team Ohio - 9
In a tough game with both teams scoring 6 goals in the first half, the second was just as tough.
CU held a 10 to 8 lead with 2 minutes to go. With a ball control offense CU held on for 12-9 victory.
Leading CU with 5 goals was Jessica Sandman. Adding 4 goals and an assist was Lara Spencer.
Game 14 Detroit, Rammit
After the first half it was a 5-5 ball game. In the second half, Rammit's tenacious defense kept
Detroit scoreless. Leading the charge for Rammit were Mallory Singer with 5 goals, Amy Neilson
with 2 goals and 2 assists, and Callae Snively with 3 goals.
