The women’s elite tournament wrapped up in Vail on Sunday with two of the favorites going head to head. Team Harrow and Axia battled through the competition all week long for the right to play each other in the final game and Harrow pulled off the 10-6 victory. Game details below.

Women’s Elite Championship


Team Harrow – 10, Axia – 6

Team Harrow jumped out to a 3-1 lead early in the first half as three different players notched goals. Axia continued to press and slowly closed the gap. Crista Samaras scroed two goals in leading the comeback. By half-time, Axia was in the lead 4-3. The second half was a controlled game as Team Harrow was patient in looking for the quality shots. Their patience paid off when they tied the game and then took the lead. Once they did, they never relinquished it. Jen Adams and Molly Lambert led Team Harrow’s second half with two goals each. Axia had a brief charge as the speedy Kinsley O’Garrow had two quick goals on fast breaks. It wasn’t enough though as ball control and good shot selection kept Team harrow in control. Meg Dentler and Alex Kahoe tag teamed at goalie and kept Axia at bay. Team Harrow came out on top 10-6 for the 2004 Women’s Elite Championship.
