2003 PREVIEW
by Jeff Secor
The 2003 Vail Shootout has some outstanding teams. Last year's
winner, Behind the Back, is ready to defend their title while the
perennial contenders and multi-year champions, AXIA (formerly
womenslacrosse.com), will be trying to regain the title. Although
there are only fourteen teams this year, the competition should be
exciting. Ripple of old is back after a short hiatus. They will be
challenging the front runners such as returning teams Special Brew,
Team Harrow, and Team Ohio. Two teams from the Eastern seaboard are
making their debut, Lake Placid winner Team Simeons and from New
York, Gotham Women's Lacrosse. The state of Colorado is well
represented with Last Call and Colorado and they are being joined by
the kids (recent high school grads) team of Random. Team Texas is
making a return with a few Texans and several experienced players
from around the nation. Rounding out the tournament is Pittsburgh
based, QC Lax/Weakest Link and the San Diego team of Adrenaline. Good
luck to all teams. Read the descriptions below and see what the team
reps have to say about their chances and goals.
