Utah Maxima Most people don't take Utah seriously. Really, who can blame them? After all, we're the state represented in the US Senate by Orrin Hatch. (You can purchase his homespun collection of sing-along piano tunes at www.hatchmusic.com.) But in recent years, three things have put us on the map. First, the very clever and sneaky Tom Green went on the Jerry Springer Show to talk about how he married his under-aged second cousin's daughter, or something like that. And then he made a national fuss when the feds busted him. From around the country we heard the collective questioning, "Now, why did you move to Utah?" We're still wondering. Second, we hosted a three week sporting event last February, featuring figure skaters who whined, figure skating judges who cheated, a record number of blood doping busts, and a bobsledder who has a new understanding of the word, "karma." And third, Utah Maxima goes to the Vail Shootout! And we don't finish last anymore! Still giddy over our fistful of victories in prior years, we're coming back for more. We've trained, we've practiced, we've worked hard to improve. We're looking forward to having fun and playing hard. Be forewarned, Chesapeake! We're not the redheaded stepchildren of the lacrosse world anymore! |
