2002 PREVIEW
While the number of teams in the Masters division dwindled the quality of the teams appears to have increased. If you’re a fan of parity this is the division to watch. STX/Lacrosse Unlimited (a free staff t-shirt goes to the first person who is not from Long Island that can spell Rocco’s, he’s the team oganizer and quite a player too, last name correctly) is the returning champ after spoiling the run of Rock-it Pocket in last year’s final. The Tog squad with Billy Hall in the goal hit the semis as a first year entry last year and the early reports are that they are stronger in 02. Meineke changed names— Eddie’s Septic this year. It’s a related field in the exhaust business. This team lost to the Rock-its by one in the first round last year. Hollywood Masters and Middlebury balance out the entries. Both clubs had strong wins last year and are the dark horses despite drawing tough seeds in the first round.
