Statement: The Air Force Academy Alumni Lacrosse organization has fielded a team in the VailSupermasters Division (Air Force Graybirds) for the past 6 years. During the 2001 Vail tournament it was decided to field a team in the Elite Division as the Air Force Warbirds - a team comprised of Air Force alumni and members of the Midwest City Lacrosse Conference (MCLC) club league. On 9/11/01, terrorists attacked our country. President Bush once again ordered graduates of the Air Force Academy to take the fight to the enemy. Our team roster suddenly thinned out as many of our key players were sent into harm's way and will continue fighting the war while we play lacrosse in Vail. Our team name was changed to Laxworld Ohio as our final roster became comprised of MCLC Club and Great West League College players. We HONOR our players fighting the war by listing them as our KEY PLAYERS for the 2002 tournament. |
